At the 2025 Inclusion Bund Conference held today, Wang Xingxing, founder of Unitree Technology, shared his perspective on the current state of artificial intelligence development.

Wang noted that current language models have achieved exceptional performance in information processing domains, including text and image fields, surpassing 99.99% of human capabilities. However, he emphasized a stark contrast when it comes to AI actually performing practical work tasks.

"In the realm of truly enabling AI to perform labor, the entire field remains a desert," Wang stated. "At most, there are just a few patches of grass growing in this desert. The era of massive, explosive growth has not yet arrived."

Despite this current limitation, Wang expressed optimism about the transformative potential of the AI era. He characterized this period as particularly exciting and emphasized its democratizing nature.

"The AI era is significantly more fair than previous eras," Wang explained. "As long as you are intelligent and willing to work hard, you can accomplish a great deal. Anyone seeking to achieve their desired goals has the potential to grow into towering trees in this desert landscape."

Wang's comments highlight both the remarkable achievements of AI in information processing and the substantial opportunities that remain untapped in practical AI applications across various industries.
