According to reports, Russian Presidential Aide Ushakov stated on the 5th that during a phone call on the 4th, Russian President Putin reiterated his preference for resolving the Ukraine issue through political and diplomatic means, while emphasizing that Russia's principled positions must be taken into account.

Ushakov explained at a press conference held at midnight Moscow time on the 5th that, at the request of the U.S. side, Putin and Trump held a telephone conversation lasting approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes. During the call, Putin briefed Trump on the battlefield situation in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Putin stated that Russian forces are launching offensives across the entire front line.

Ushakov informed the media that on the 3rd, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Gerasimov reported to Putin that the Russian military has gained full control of Konstantinovka. He indicated that Kyiv and its European supporters, however, are still betting on the continuation and even escalation of the conflict in Ukraine.

Ushakov said that during the phone conversation, Trump reiterated his commitment to facilitating a swift cessation of military actions and seeking a peaceful resolution to the Russia-Ukraine crisis. Trump's special envoy Witkov and son-in-law Kushner will continue mediation efforts and visit Moscow at an appropriate time.

According to Ushakov, regarding the situation in Iran, Putin expressed during the call his hope that negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, based on a memorandum of understanding, would find long-term solutions acceptable to both sides on key issues. He also stated Russia's readiness to provide practical assistance in easing and stabilizing the regional situation. Trump expressed gratitude for Russia's position and constructive suggestions.
