On August 18, Ant Group's AI health application AQ officially launched a series of AI anti-fraud features to combat fake medical advertisements and prevent elderly people from being deceived.

AQ was previously launched by Ant Group on June 26, offering over 100 AI functions including health education, medical consultation, and report interpretation. The bet on AI healthcare has become one of Ant Group's future strategic directions. Notably, this is also a sector that Alibaba founder Jack Ma is optimistic about.

Zhang Junjie, Vice President of Ant Group and General Manager of the Digital Medical Health Business Unit, revealed that the name "AQ" came from Jack Ma himself. He hoped this product would possess AI, IQ, and EQ capabilities, allowing AQ to "ensure patients are no longer deceived" just as Alipay once aimed to create a "world without thieves," using AI technology to eliminate fake medical advertisements.

In 2014, Jack Ma predicted at the first World Internet Conference that China's biggest challenges in ten years would be health and happiness issues, representing two industries worth investing in. In March 2023, after a long period without public appearances, Jack Ma also stated during a visit to Yungu School that technologies like ChatGPT are just the beginning of the AI era, emphasizing the need to use artificial intelligence to solve problems. Now, Ant Group's AQ has become part of Jack Ma's "AI + Health" blueprint.

Market research firm Grand View Research data shows that the global AI healthcare market is expected to grow from $11 billion in 2021 to $194 billion by 2028, with an annual compound growth rate exceeding 41%.

Alongside the launch of AI anti-fraud features, Ant Group aims to further expand AQ's user scenarios and scale. Research data from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences indicates that over 40% of elderly people have been scammed by health products, while nearly 30% have been deceived by false medical information.

Ant Group disclosed that AQ has now launched the industry's first AI medical fraud detection and rumor-debunking section. Users can access it by typing "anti-fraud" in the AQ App, utilizing AI photo fraud detection and AI phone verification to identify fake medical advertisements. Additionally, AQ will partner with Good Doctor's 300,000 "real doctors" resources to provide in-depth education and collaborate with the Blue Vest public welfare initiative to form "Silver Hair Anti-Fraud Teams" conducting thousands of elderly fraud prevention activities nationwide.

Taking the "AI Photo Fraud Detection" feature as an example, Ant Group explains that after users upload images of falsely advertised health products, AI analyzes the product information page to identify potential issues such as lack of legal qualifications, suspected illegal promotion, or extremely high component risks, alerting users to exercise caution.

Continuously exploring more user needs and scenarios remains an important challenge for current AI medical applications. Zhang Junjie previously stated that Ant Group is not rushing to commercialize AI medical products and will focus on user value for an extended period. In this sector related to public welfare with enormous growth prospects, the investment period remains lengthy, but future commercialization opportunities will certainly exist.
