Samsonite repurchases 1.33 million shares, treasury stock rises to 83.30 million

Samsonite Group S.A. (Samsonite) reported a share repurchase of 1.33 million ordinary shares on 18 May 2026, according to its Next Day Disclosure Return filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 18 May 2026. All repurchased shares have been retained as treasury stock.

After the transaction, Samsonite’s issued share capital (excluding treasury shares) declined by 0.10% to 1.38 billion, while total treasury shares increased to 83.30 million. The company’s total issued share count remained unchanged at 1.47 billion.

The shares were bought on the Exchange at prices ranging from HKD 14.31 to HKD 14.70, implying a volume-weighted average of HKD 14.64 and an aggregate cash outlay of HKD 19.43 million.

The 18 May transaction forms part of a repurchase mandate approved on 03 June 2025 that authorises the company to buy back up to 138.31 million shares. Cumulative repurchases under this mandate now total 4.00 million shares, equivalent to 0.29% of the issued shares outstanding at the time the mandate was granted.

Under listing rules, Samsonite is restricted from issuing new shares or disposing of treasury shares until 17 June 2026. The board confirmed that the repurchase complied with all applicable regulations and that all funds due have been fully settled.
