分析师对黄金价格飙升给出了多种解释——从央行购金到加密货币公司Tether的大额采购。但普通投资者的力量不容忽视。
世界黄金理事会周四报告显示，去年流入黄金支持交易所交易基金(ETF)的资金规模达到破纪录的890亿美元。这个由矿业公司成立的行业组织指出，ETF投资为黄金市场贡献了超过800公吨的额外需求。
虽然对冲基金等大型机构也是ETF的常客，但其中相当部分买盘可能源自散户投资者。该报告还发现，投资者正通过多种渠道抢购实物黄金：金条与金币需求跃升16%至1374公吨，创2013年以来最高水平。
"投资需求成为绝对主角，投资者正通过所有可行渠道加速配置黄金。"世界黄金理事会资深市场分析师路易丝·斯特里特表示。
整体而言，去年全球黄金需求达到5002公吨的历史峰值，其他购买来源同样功不可没：央行购金量虽较前年下降约21%至863公吨，但仍处于历史高位；珠宝需求则降至1542公吨的五年低点，报告称金价暴涨"不可避免地对珠宝消费者形成了购买力制约"。
