At the 2026 interim results conference held by People's Insurance Company of China on August 31, Zhang Daoming, Vice President of the group and President of PICC P&C, addressed the progress of governance reforms in the non-auto insurance sector. He noted that the company has recently intensified innovation across areas aligned with national strategies, including consumption promotion, investment in people, and livelihood protection, thereby strengthening growth momentum. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the company's individual non-auto premiums climbed by four consecutive ten-billion-yuan increments.

Responding to the recently issued "Action Plan for Comprehensive Governance of Non-Auto Insurance" by the National Financial Regulatory Administration, Zhang stated that the plan reinforces a strict and robust regulatory stance. He affirmed that the company will resolutely implement regulatory directives, fully align with all requirements of the non-auto insurance governance initiative, and balance risk prevention with support for the real economy. The firm will systematically proceed in phases with the upgrade and re-filing of non-auto insurance products. According to the regulator's deployment, the overall work is slated for completion by the end of the first quarter of 2027, aiming to drive high-quality development of commercial non-auto insurance through comprehensive governance.

Looking ahead, Zhang expressed confidence that as the scope of governance expands and various company measures take effect, the comprehensive expense ratio is expected to continue its favorable trend. He conveyed optimism that post-governance, the non-auto insurance sector will enter a long-term profitable cycle, with improvements in this area providing robust support for the industry's overall development.
