A former technology executive from UBS has joined Barclays Bank as the Chief Operating Officer for its Asia private banking business.
Barclays Bank announced in a statement that it has appointed Werner Schlossmacher as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Barclays Private Bank, Asia. He will be based in Singapore and report to Leo Müller, the Chief Operating Officer of Barclays Private Bank and Wealth Management.
Schlossmacher brings over 30 years of wealth management experience across Singapore, Hong Kong, and Switzerland. He most recently served at UBS, where he led several major digital transformation initiatives, redesigned mobile and electronic banking experiences, and introduced generative artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. Prior to that, he spent over 20 years at Credit Suisse, holding several senior roles including leadership positions in digital platforms, front-office applications, and wealth management for the Asia-Pacific region.
