BlockFin Holdings Sees 30% Revenue Drop but Narrows Loss; Extends Promissory Note to 2028

BlockFin Holdings Limited reported interim revenue of HK$10.00 million for the six months ended 30 June 2026, down 30.3% from HK$14.40 million a year earlier, due mainly to softer fund-management income.

Loss attributable to shareholders narrowed 23.7% to HK$21.50 million (1H 2025: HK$28.20 million) as the group avoided last year’s HK$11.60 million mark-to-market loss on a private-equity fund and trimmed research, staff and other operating expenses by a combined HK$18.5 million.

Liquidity remained adequate: cash and cash equivalents stood at HK$62.58 million versus HK$85.85 million at end-2025, while net current assets turned positive to HK$65.60 million from a HK$34.50 million deficit six months earlier. Total indebtedness rose to HK$115.70 million (31 December 2025: HK$90.40 million) after capitalising accrued interest on a promissory note; the gearing ratio improved to −231.8% from −265.5%.

On 10 July 2026 the company signed a Supplemental Deed with noteholder Fullbest Star, extending the promissory note’s maturity from 31 May 2026 to 31 May 2028, revising its principal to HK$115.59 million and increasing the coupon to 18.0%–22.0%. A one-off handling charge of HK$30.00 million is payable during the 15-month forecast period.

BlockFin’s core External Asset Management business contributed HK$9.67 million of revenue, up from HK$8.10 million, on higher assets under management of approximately HK$2.40 billion. Fund-management fees fell to HK$0.10 million (1H 2025: HK$6.23 million) as liquidity constraints at managed funds reduced fee payments.

The group’s sole significant investment, BeiTai Investment LP, was valued at HK$1.86 million, equal to 2.5% of total assets; no unrealised gain or loss was booked after an HK$11.60 million loss in 1H 2025.

BlockFin declared no interim dividend.

Corporate actions during the period included disposal of a PRC subsidiary, resulting in a HK$5.62 million loss, and a change of auditor: Baker Tilly Hong Kong resigned on 24 July 2026 and Suya WWC CPA Limited was appointed the same day.

The board expects Hong Kong’s economic recovery to support future growth of its licensed Type 1, 4 and 9 activities, while it continues exploring emerging financial-services opportunities and monitors progress on the AMC Bond recovery within BeiTai Investment LP.
