据彭博，知情人士透露，蚂蚁集团旗下国际业务部门正计划在新加坡和中国香港申请稳定币牌照。
知情人士还透露，蚂蚁国际还计划在卢森堡寻求许可。此举旨在加强该金融科技公司的区块链业务，为其跨境支付和资金管理服务提供支持。
蚂蚁国际回应称，欢迎香港立法会通过《稳定币条例草案》，将于法案8月1日生效、相关通道开启后尽快提交申请，希望为香港建设未来国际金融中心贡献更多力量。该公司还表示，蚂蚁国际正在全球财资管理方面加速投资，拓展合作，将其AI、区块链和稳定币创新投入真实可靠的大规模应用。
蚂蚁国际2024年全年资金处理量超过1万亿美元。而蚂蚁曾表示，2024年超过三分之一的资金处理量透过Whale平台以区块链技术处理。按此推算，2024年蚂蚁国际全球有逾3000亿美元资金使用区块链技术管理。若其中有一半可落实在稳定币应用，其自身存量业务中的稳定币交易量规模即可达1500亿美元以上。
