MICOT PHARMA-B (02335) shares rose more than 3% in Hong Kong trading, climbing 3.4% to HK$30.40 as of the time of writing, with turnover reaching HK$20.4952 million.

The company announced on August 3 that its Phase II clinical trial for MT200605, a candidate drug developed in-house for treating acute ischemic stroke (AIS), has yielded top-line data. The results indicate the trial successfully met its primary study endpoint, with findings demonstrating both statistical significance and clinical relevance.

In terms of safety, MT200605 showed a favorable tolerability profile, with no treatment-related serious adverse events (SAEs) reported throughout the study period. The incidence of Grade 3 or higher treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) was balanced across all groups, and no new significant safety risks were identified.

Beyond its application for AIS, MT200605 is also being developed for Huntington's disease (HD). The drug selectively activates the TrkB signaling pathway, providing a dual mechanism of neuroprotection and antioxidant activity to preserve neural tissue structure and function.

Preclinical studies have demonstrated that MT200605 has the potential to directly reduce the aggregation of mutant huntingtin protein (mHTT), offering a disease-modifying therapeutic strategy for HD. In March 2026, the candidate received Orphan Drug Designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the HD indication.
