周一，大众汽车首次发布了一款由固态电池驱动的电动测试车。这项仍处于起步阶段的技术，有望降低电动车成本并延长其使用寿命。大众表示，这款全电动测试摩托车采用的是美国 Quantumscape Corp. 公司提供的技术，而大众是该公司的股东。
“大众汽车董事会负责技术事务的成员托马斯·施马尔（Thomas Schmall）表示：‘固态电池有潜力成为电动出行领域的颠覆性技术。与合作伙伴QuantumScape一起，我们的目标是将该技术产业化，并朝着批量生产迈出下一步。”
