Simcere Pharma adds 0.83 million-share buyback; 27.50 million shares now pending cancellation, 1.11% of capital

Simcere Pharmaceutical Group Limited (Simcere Pharma) reported to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that it repurchased 829,000 ordinary shares on 22 May 2026 at an average price of HKD 10.58 per share, for a total consideration of HKD 8.70 million. The shares will be cancelled.

Including this latest transaction, Simcere Pharma has executed 15 buyback tranches between 12 January and 22 May 2026, accumulating 27.50 million shares pending cancellation. The repurchased amount equals 1.11% of the company’s issued shares outstanding on the date the buyback mandate was approved (13 June 2025).

The mandate authorises the company to repurchase up to 247.47 million shares, leaving 219.97 million shares available for future buybacks. Simcere Pharma currently holds no treasury shares.

The issued share capital remains unchanged at 2.60 billion shares as of 22 May 2026. In line with Hong Kong listing rules, the company is subject to a moratorium on new share issues until 21 June 2026.
