Kohl's Corporation (NYSE: KSS) saw its stock price surge 5.72% during pre-market trading on Thursday, following the release of its first-quarter fiscal 2026 financial results.

The department store retailer reported an adjusted loss per share of $0.13 for the quarter, which significantly surpassed the analyst consensus estimate for a loss of $0.19. Quarterly sales came in at $3.167 billion, also beating the consensus estimate of $2.991 billion.

Furthermore, the company affirmed its full-year financial outlook, providing guidance for fiscal 2026 adjusted earnings per share in the range of $1.00 to $1.60. This range brackets the FactSet consensus estimate of $1.36, indicating management's confidence in meeting or exceeding current market expectations.
