派拉蒙全球周四宣布，将针对华纳兄弟探索的收购要约截止日期延长至2月20日，并敦促股东拒绝竞购方奈飞的最新报价。此次延期使派拉蒙能以779亿美元的全盘收购方案争取更多时间说服华纳股东。
本周早些时候，华纳兄弟探索透露已与奈飞达成一项价值720亿美元的全现金新协议，涉及旗下影视工作室和HBO Max流媒体服务。派拉蒙的原定收购期限于周三到期，这本身已是1月8日初始截止日后的首次延期。该公司周四披露，目前仅有约1.685亿股华纳股份被有效投标，不足流通股总数的10%。
派拉蒙指出，华纳与奈飞的新协议将给股东带来更大不确定性，因其传统电视网络相关债务规模存疑。而华纳方面坚称奈飞报价更优，部分原因在于股东可保留流媒体业务未收购部分的股份，从而享受未来增值潜力。
