On August 8, Etsy rose 5.02% in regular trading, trading at $86.42/share, with turnover of $339 million. The rally came as markets digested strong Q2 results and a wave of analyst price target increases.

Etsy reported Q2 revenue of $668.3 million, surpassing the FactSet consensus estimate of $646.1 million. EPS from continuing operations reached $0.98, up 151% year-over-year, while core GMS growth hit its strongest pace since 2021. The company also authorized an approximately $2 billion share repurchase program and announced a restructuring plan eliminating about 220 positions. Although GAAP EPS came in at a loss of $0.36 due to $35 million in restructuring charges, markets shifted focus to improving operational efficiency.

Following the results, Wedbush raised its price target to $88 from $80 citing marketing efficiency gains, Morgan Stanley lifted its target to $73 from $64, and BofA adjusted to $90 from $75. Wedbush noted that richer listing data shared with Google is enabling more competitive ad bids, while Morgan Stanley highlighted that sustained recovery depends on meaningful improvement in buyer purchase frequency.
