CHINA VANKE's stock surged 5% during intraday trading on Wednesday, joining a broad rally among Chinese real estate developers in Hong Kong. The sector gained momentum following the release of encouraging mid-year housing data and optimistic signals from policymakers.
The rally was fueled by the June housing price data for 70 cities and first-half real estate figures released on July 15. At a State Council Information Office press conference, Mao Shengyong, Deputy Director of the National Bureau of Statistics, noted that the effectiveness of policies is becoming evident, with the property market showing some positive changes based on the first-half data. Additionally, Changjiang Securities highlighted that the performance of key cities like Beijing and Shanghai in the first half exceeded market expectations, and the approaching timing of a major political meeting has heightened focus on further policy support for the sector.
The positive sentiment lifted the entire sector, with peers such as SUNAC, LONGFOR GROUP, and YUEXIU PROPERTY also posting significant gains during the session.
