General Motors Commits $600 Million Investment to Upgrade South Korean Subsidiary's Production Facilities

General Motors announced on Wednesday a plan to invest $600 million in South Korea to upgrade production facilities and strengthen the role of its local subsidiary as the global hub for its small sport utility vehicles (SUVs).

In a press release, General Motors stated that this investment in GM Korea includes $300 million announced last December, plus an additional $300 million, reflecting the company's growing confidence in GM Korea's improving performance and competitiveness.
