Beijing Daxing International Airport has officially launched its upgraded ride-hailing service area, marking a significant enhancement to the airport's ground transportation infrastructure.

The comprehensive upgrade, revealed on September 16, focuses on delivering a safer, smoother, and more efficient experience for passengers throughout the entire ride-hailing process. The airport authorities have strategically relocated the pickup zones from the P1 parking structure's 1M level to the former P2 parking building to better optimize the passenger flow.

One of the most notable improvements is the physical separation between passenger pickup areas and vehicle holding zones. The new configuration has dramatically expanded capacity, with the number of pickup points growing from 10 to 35, representing a 250% increase in loading capacity compared to the previous setup. The vehicle holding area can now accommodate up to 1,200 ride-hailing vehicles simultaneously, marking a 150% boost in waiting capacity.

The expanded holding resources combined with the multiple pickup point layout enable more flexible vehicle dispatch during peak hours, effectively reducing passenger wait times and ensuring travelers can depart from the airport with minimal delay. The upgraded facility also separates ride-hailing vehicles and private cars into different zones within the parking structure, maintaining complete physical separation between the two traffic flows.

The access system has been substantially improved as well, transitioning from the previous single-entry-single-exit configuration to a dual-entry-dual-exit design. This new bi-directional traffic management system allows vehicles to enter and exit through dedicated lanes without interference. Additionally, different ride-hailing platforms now operate from designated zones, significantly improving transfer efficiency. The upgraded facility can handle over 1,000 vehicles per hour during peak periods, positioning it to effectively manage high-volume flight arrivals and holiday travel surges while ensuring smooth and uninterrupted passenger journeys.
