Stock Track | CHALCO Soars 5.06% Intraday on Guinea Export Controls and Alumina Project Deal

CHALCO's stock surged 5.06% during intraday trading on Tuesday, significantly outperforming the broader market.

The rally is primarily attributed to news that Guinea, the world's largest bauxite producer, plans to announce export control measures next month to regulate the volume of bauxite shipped overseas. This policy is expected to tighten global supply and boost prices for bauxite, alumina, and aluminum. CHALCO is directly positioned to benefit from this development, as its subsidiary recently signed a revised Mining Agreement with the Guinean government to invest approximately $1 billion in building a 1.2-million-ton-per-year alumina production facility in the country.

Broader industry dynamics are also supporting the bullish sentiment. Analysts point to a tightening aluminum market with low inventories and strong demand from sectors like green energy and AI data center infrastructure. Guinea's move to assert greater control over its bauxite resources adds a new catalyst to this positive supply-demand outlook for the aluminum industry chain.
