The 2025 Hurun Rich List reveals that Tencent founder Pony Ma, aged 54, has seen his wealth grow to RMB465 billion, marking an increase of approximately RMB150 billion (+48%) compared to the previous year. He maintains his third-place ranking, unchanged from last year.
Tencent, a leading internet services company, operates across social media, gaming, fintech, and other sectors. Over the past year, the company reported a 20% rise in advertising revenue, a 10% growth in domestic gaming, and a 1.92x surge in WeChat Mini Stores' GMV. Net profit for the year climbed 68%. Additionally, Tencent has been actively investing in AI technology and expanding its global gaming footprint, driving its market capitalization close to RMB6 trillion.
The wealth surge is closely tied to the performance of Hong Kong-listed stocks. Pony Ma and NetEase’s William Ding are long-standing fixtures in the Hurun Rich List’s top 10, with Ma appearing 14 times and Ding 11 times. Notably, Ma received dividends totaling RMB3 billion in the past year.
Investment decisions should be made with caution, as market risks remain.
