EV shares jumped on Monday. Tesla, NIO gained about 6%; Li Auto up over 5%; XPeng up over 3%; Lucid, Rivian up about 2%.

Tesla shares jumped on Monday after a regulatory filing showed that CEO Elon Musk had purchased nearly $1 billion worth of the electric-vehicle maker's stock last week.

Musk disclosed buying 2.57 million shares in open-market transactions on Friday, paying between $372.37 and $396.54 per share, according to the filing.

Nio’s U.S.-listed shares rose as the Chinese EV maker has begun shipping the third-generation ES8 to its stores in China as part of preparations for rapid delivery of the SUV (sport utility vehicle).
