According to informed sources, U.S. grocery giant Kroger plans to appoint Greg Foran as its CEO. Foran previously led an airline and served as the head of Walmart's U.S. operations.
Kroger has been actively searching for a new chief executive. Last year, the company dismissed Rodney McMullen after a board investigation found his personal conduct was "inconsistent" with certain company policies.
The appointment is expected to be officially announced by Kroger on Monday local time.
New Zealand-born Foran served as the CEO of Air New Zealand from February 2020 until October 2025. Before joining the airline, he was the President and CEO of Walmart U.S., where he was credited with turning around the business by focusing on improving existing stores. Under his leadership, the division achieved twenty consecutive quarters of comparable sales growth.
