On October 9, LIGENT rose 5.62% in regular trading, trading at 31.6 HKD/share, with turnover of 159 million HKD.
The move follows a sharp pullback the previous day, with sentiment recovering on renewed focus on the company's scarce positioning in AI interconnect optical chips and high-speed optical modules under the Hisense Group umbrella. A recent broker report maintained a buy rating and highlighted that AI compute demand is driving expansion in the optical communications industry, with the global optical module market projected to grow to 707.6 billion RMB by 2030 and datacom optical modules expected to achieve a 40.5% compound annual growth rate. LIGENT is among the first Chinese manufacturers to mass-produce 800G and 1.6T optical modules, with datacom module revenue up 36.6% year-over-year and optical chip revenue surging 424.6%.
LIGENT is engaged in the manufacturing and sale of optical modules, optical chips, and optical network terminal products, serving applications in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, FTTx, transmission networks, and wireless fields across domestic and overseas markets.
