On August 19, a video of a "concrete mixer truck losing control and hitting a Xiaomi YU7" garnered significant attention. The driver of the hit Xiaomi vehicle stated in the video that despite being struck by the concrete mixer truck and pushed for over ten meters, he was largely unharmed.
On August 20, the owner of the Xiaomi vehicle, Mr. Li, was contacted regarding the incident. He revealed that he had just picked up the car on the 16th of this month and unexpectedly encountered an accident after driving for only three days. "I didn't expect so many people would pay attention to this. I'm not trying to say which brand of car is safe or unsafe - I mainly wanted to document my experience of narrowly escaping disaster."

The viral video was captured by the dashcam of a vehicle behind the crashed car. The footage shows a concrete mixer truck suddenly losing control and entering the oncoming lane, colliding with multiple vehicles, including a green Xiaomi car. After the collision, the Xiaomi vehicle was pushed forward by the concrete mixer truck for more than ten meters.
Mr. Li, the 50-year-old owner of the Xiaomi vehicle with over 20 years of driving experience, operates a stainless steel processing company in Anhui Province. "I waited in line for several months to buy this car. I had just picked it up on August 16 and was planning to drive to Inner Mongolia for a trip with my wife when we encountered this accident in Chifeng."
Mr. Li described the incident as extremely sudden. After the oncoming concrete mixer truck hit them, the airbags in his car deployed, and the vehicle spun nearly 180 degrees. "After that, we were basically being pushed by that big truck the entire time. Sitting inside the car, I had no idea what was happening outside. I felt very helpless, and my mind went completely blank."
After the collision ended, Mr. Li and his wife quickly got out of the car, only to discover their vehicle was almost completely destroyed. Other vehicles on the road had also been hit to varying degrees, with some cars having rolled off the roadside embankment. "My wife immediately asked if I was injured, and I checked to see if she was hurt anywhere."

Following medical examination at the hospital, Mr. Li's wife was found to have three fractured fingers, with no other significant injuries. "The traffic police investigation revealed that the concrete mixer truck experienced brake failure and hit about seven or eight cars. The dashcam video from inside my car was also taken by the police department."
Staff from the Chifeng Public Security Bureau Traffic Management Detachment stated on the 20th that after a traffic accident occurs, relevant departments handle responsibility determination, but specific accident details cannot be disclosed.
After the accident, Mr. Li posted the dashcam video from the rear vehicle online, which attracted widespread attention. "I didn't expect it to generate so much public interest. I'm not trying to say which brand of car is safe or unsafe - I mainly wanted to document my experience of narrowly escaping disaster."
Mr. Li said he is currently awaiting further accident processing results, and the vehicle should be considered completely written off. "This car was planned mainly for my son to drive. He currently rides a bicycle more than ten kilometers to and from work every day, which is very tiring. If we replace it with the same model, we'll need to wait several more months."
Mr. Li mentioned that his vehicle has comprehensive insurance, and Xiaomi staff also traveled to the location to assist with accident processing. "Today I went to the hospital for another thorough physical examination to stabilize my emotions. The best outcome is that people are safe and sound."
