UBoT Holding Limited (UBoT, 08529) reported strong interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2026, driven by robust global semiconductor demand and higher production efficiency.
Revenue and earnings • Revenue climbed 27.2% year on year to HK$115.05 million, supported mainly by higher shipments of tray and tray-related products. • Profit attributable to shareholders surged 117.8% to HK$11.48 million. • Basic earnings per share increased to 2.24 HK cents (1H 2025: 1.03 HK cents). • Gross profit rose 38.9% to HK$46.14 million, lifting the gross margin to 40.1%, up 3.4 percentage points, as higher plant utilisation and ongoing automation improved cost efficiency.
Segment and geographic mix • Back-end semiconductor transport media (JEDEC trays, carrier tape and accessories) remained the core business, generating HK$114.18 million, or 99.2% of total sales. • MEMS and sensor packaging contributed HK$0.87 million. • By region, Southeast Asia and mainland China each delivered just over HK$42 million in revenue, followed by Taiwan (HK$20.35 million), Hong Kong/Korea/Japan (HK$8.54 million) and the US & Europe (HK$2.05 million).
Cost structure and expenses • Cost of sales rose 20.2% to HK$68.90 million in line with higher output. • Administrative expenses increased 7.5% to HK$17.09 million, while selling and distribution costs grew 26.7% to HK$13.30 million as marketing activities expanded. • Research and development spending climbed to HK$2.68 million from HK$1.90 million. • Finance costs were broadly stable at HK$2.39 million.
Balance sheet highlights • Cash and cash equivalents stood at HK$9.38 million versus HK$4.47 million at end-2025. • Bank borrowings rose to HK$85.46 million (31 Dec 2025: HK$71.86 million); gearing ratio remained at 0.9x, and the current ratio stayed at 1.0x. • Net assets increased 8.6% to HK$90.46 million. • Capital commitments for plant and equipment totalled HK$3.14 million.
Dividend The board declared an interim cash dividend of 1.0 HK cent per share, payable on 29 September 2026 to shareholders on record as of 16 September 2026.
Operational developments and outlook UBoT highlighted the successful ramp-up of its Philippines facility, now in full mass production of carrier tape and reel products, and the phased rollout of automation across its Dongguan and Philippines plants. Management expects continued semiconductor industry growth, citing World Semiconductor Trade Statistics projections for a US$1.66 trillion market in 2026, and plans to expand its carrier tape portfolio and MEMS/sensor packaging capabilities while maintaining disciplined capital allocation and supply-chain resilience.
