Shanxi Province's police-bank cooperation has successfully intercepted 53.48 million yuan in cash and 2,471 grams of gold that victims were about to hand over to fraudsters this year. Through immediate payment suspension and account freezing measures for defrauded victims, authorities have legally returned 120 million yuan in stolen funds.

Zhang Yunpeng, Party Committee Member, Political Department Director, and spokesperson for Shanxi Provincial Public Security Department, announced at a government press conference on September 9 that Shanxi police place high priority on combating telecommunications and internet fraud crimes.

Based on different fraud methods and criminal characteristics, authorities have precisely sent 800 million anti-fraud alerts. Through face-to-face interactions, 96110 phone calls, and text message warnings, police processed 1.9 million fraud-related warning messages, preventing 1.87 million people from falling victim to scams.

Strengthening police-telecommunications cooperation, authorities blocked 1.259 million fraudulent phone numbers and 6.304 million fraudulent text messages.

Simultaneously, Shanxi police advanced "card cutting" and "fraud hunting" operations along with industry rectification efforts, destroying 45 illegal card-related sites and arresting 3,636 criminal suspects.
