Shares of China Ruyi (00136) climbed more than 8% in Hong Kong trading, last up 6.41% at HK$1.495 with turnover reaching HK$102 million.

Recent box office momentum is fueling investor optimism. The comedy animation Eight Immortals, co-produced by China Ruyi and released in July, has accumulated 1.615 billion yuan in ticket sales. Meanwhile, Welcome to the Dragon Restaurant, starring Shen Teng, hit theaters in August and has so far grossed 955 million yuan.

Forecasts for the latter film vary across platforms, with Dengta Professional Edition projecting 3.542 billion yuan and Maoyan estimating 2.057 billion yuan. Both platforms hold a positive view on the movie's remaining box office potential.

Guotai Junan Securities noted that the film's surprise arrival during the summer season could spark a broader moviegoing wave, benefiting related stakeholders.

In a recent announcement, China Ruyi said multiple key film and gaming projects have entered their release and distribution phases for the second half of the year. Beyond the two movies already performing well, the game Immortal Sect Master officially launched in late July, with other major projects advancing as scheduled. The company expects these initiatives to contribute positively to both revenue and profit in the coming months.
