French Finance Minister Roland Lescure stated that investor demand for French government bonds remains intact.
Speaking in a television interview, he said: "We issue government bonds every two weeks without any problems. Investors are willing to buy French bonds, they just demand higher yields."
Earlier, the French Ministry of Finance said on Wednesday that it would not adjust its government bond issuance strategy and would continue to utilize the flexibility available during the auction process.
Lescure also expressed optimism that the French budget bill would be passed, and noted that the government must reduce the fiscal deficit.
He stated: "The public deficit situation is concerning, which is precisely why we must take action immediately."
