2月16日（星期一）為華盛頓誕辰日（總統日），美股將休市一天，並於2月17日（星期二）起恢復正常交易。

總統日（英文：Presidents' Day）為美國聯邦法定假日之一，與陣亡將士紀念日、感恩節等並列為美國主要法定假日，定於每年2月的第三個星期一。該節日主要用以紀念喬治・華盛頓、亞伯拉罕・林肯等歷任總統。節日期間，聯邦政府機構關閉，民眾可透過參觀總統陵墓、圖書館或博物館等方式了解美國總統歷史，學校及家長亦會藉此向學生進行公民及愛國教育。
該節日源於1799年華盛頓逝世後的民間紀念活動。1879年，美國國會正式將2月22日訂為「華盛頓誕辰」聯邦假日。1968年《統一星期一假日法》通過後，將節日調整至每年2月第三個星期一，並於1971年起實施，逐步與林肯誕辰紀念合併，演變為廣義紀念歷任總統的節日。聯邦政府官方文件至今仍沿用「華盛頓誕辰」的稱謂，而旅遊業及零售商戶亦常藉此檔期推出促銷活動。
