Daiwa has released a report detailing BYD COMPANY (01211) management's updated sales and gross margin outlook for 2026, along with progress on its flash charging technology. The company's latest guidance indicates overseas sales are projected to reach 1.8 million vehicles in 2026 and 2.5 million vehicles in 2027. As the second half of 2026 approaches, management expresses confidence in reclaiming market share, supported by the ramping production of its second-generation blade battery. Consequently, Daiwa has reaffirmed a "Buy" rating for BYD COMPANY.
On the flash charging front, August sales figures show the titanium 7 EV, Song Ultra EV, Big Tang, and the new Yuan Plus each surpassed 10,000 units, with the Yuan Plus exceeding 20,000 units. In terms of profitability, management's guidance points to an average selling price increase of approximately 5,000 yuan per vehicle for flash charging models, which carry substantially higher gross margins. Management also noted that roughly one-third of domestic sales in August came from vehicles equipped with flash charging capabilities, with expectations of further penetration growth as second-generation blade battery production capacity continues to climb.
