1月19日（周一）为“马丁·路德·金纪念日”，美股将休市一天，1月20日（周二）恢复正常交易。
注：1月19日9:00-17:00点（北京时间）不设夜盘。
1986年1月美国总统里根签署法令，规定每年1月的第三个星期一为马丁-路德-金日，以纪念这位民权运动领袖，并将这一天定为联邦的法定假日。迄今美国只有三个以个人纪念日作为法定假日的事例，分别为亚伯拉罕-林肯纪念日，乔治-华盛顿纪念日（亦称总统日）和马丁-路德-金纪念日。金是迄今唯一一位非美国总统而又享此殊荣的人，同时也是唯一享有这一荣誉的非裔美国人。
马丁-路德-金于1929年1月15日生于美国佐治亚州亚特兰大。1963年8月28日他发表著名的演讲《我有一个梦想》。在他和多位民权运动领袖的推动下，1964年美国国会通过《民权法案》，宣布种族隔离和种族歧视政策为非法政策。1968年4月4日，金在田纳西州孟菲斯市领导罢工运动时，在旅馆阳台被一名刺客开枪正中喉咙致死，年仅39岁。
