Inner Mongolia's Consumer Prices Rise 0.6% Year-on-Year in January 2026

On February 13, data released by the Inner Mongolia survey team of the National Bureau of Statistics showed that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Inner Mongolia increased by 0.6% year-on-year in January 2026. By residence, urban consumer prices rose by 0.7%, while rural consumer prices increased by 0.2%. Food prices saw a 0.7% increase, while non-food prices rose by 0.5%. Prices of consumer goods grew by 0.8%, and service prices advanced by 0.3%.

A breakdown by category revealed the following year-on-year changes: prices for food, alcohol, and dining-out services increased by 0.7%; clothing prices rose by 1.3%; housing costs edged up by 0.3%; prices of household goods and services climbed by 3.2%; healthcare expenses increased by 1.1%; and prices of other goods and services surged by 14.4%. In contrast, transportation and communication costs fell by 2.9%, while education, culture, and entertainment prices declined by 0.1%.

Additionally, the Producer Price Index (PPI) for industrial products in Inner Mongolia decreased by 2.8% year-on-year in January 2026. Among the 31 major industrial sectors surveyed, 12 experienced price increases, 16 saw declines, and 3 remained unchanged. By category, prices of production materials dropped by 2.9%, while prices of consumer goods fell by 1.3%.
