Market Overview
Wall Street's main indexes posted record closing highs for the second day in a row on Monday (Oct. 27) as investors were hopeful about the prospects for a U.S.-China trade deal and looked forward to a week packed with high-profile technology earnings and a widely expected U.S. interest rate cut.
Regarding the options market, a total volume of 58,863,458 contracts was traded, down 18% from the previous trading day.

Individual investors are snapping up bullish bets tied to Strive, the company co-founded by Vivek Ramaswamy and known for railing against "woke" corporate policies. The stock surged 49% to $1.64 a share Monday.
A record more than 2.5 million call options contracts tied to Strive changed hands Monday, making it one of the most actively-traded options contracts, according to Cboe Global Markets data. Calls offer the right to buy a stock at a set price.
Strive is a bitcoin-treasury company, meaning it sells shares and debt to buy up bitcoin. The strategy has surged in popularity this year and helped send bitcoin prices to repeated records.
Online individual-investor communities such as Reddit's "WallStreetBets" have been abuzz with discussions of Strive in recent days. Shares of Strive began surging late last week, with the rally accelerating Friday after bitcoin investor Mike Alfred said in an X post that he has taken a more than 1 million-share stake in the company.
There are 2.67 million Strive option contracts traded on Monday, up 348% from the previous trading day. Call options account for 96% of overall option trades. SoFi is expected to report quarterly earnings of $0.08 per share on revenue of approximately $689 million, according to analyst estimates. The fintech company often beats expectations — last quarter it reported $0.08 per share, above the $0.06 forecast.
