特内夫表示，公司一旦上市，便无法控制围绕其股票衍生的金融产品。"发行人应当且确实掌控着所发行股票的权利与义务，但这并不意味着他们对股票的一切都享有控制权，"他说道。"尤其值得注意的是，他们无法阻止其他公司发行以那些股票为参照的自身证券。"
股票代币代表着区块链网络上的公开交易股份。然而，持有者并不会直接获得公司的股权，也享受不到股票投资者所拥有的相关保护。就Robinhood而言，其股票代币是以债务证券形式构建的。
AMC院线的阿伦上周五抨击了这家券商在未经标的发行人同意的情况下提供代币产品，并暗示这家影院运营商可能会与证券交易委员会接洽。
