During the 2026 Yunnan Provincial Two Sessions, Yunnan Release, in collaboration with Yunnan Net, launched the "New Voices at the Assembly, Painting Hometown Affection" hand-drawn news comic column. Using the Two Sessions as a window and hometown affection as ink, it listens to the voices of deputies and committee members fulfilling their duties, feeling the local sentiment and vitality of Yunnan through their eyes. Each "new voice" closely follows the pulse of development, and each "hometown scene" contains the warmth of people's livelihoods. Let us follow the sound of their履职 and feel the powerful pulse of Yunnan's high-quality development, appreciating the beautiful picture of our hometown's transformation.

Previously, the Ruili Border Industrial Park was officially established in 2023, located in Ruili City, Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture. The core area of the park is planned to cover 30 square kilometers, encompassing five sections: Wanding, Mangling, Jiegao, Huanshan, and Nongdao. It focuses on leading industries such as rosewood and jewelry, textiles and apparel, communications and electronics, equipment manufacturing, and import commodity processing. This "border new city," shouldering the mission of opening up along the border, vividly illustrates the developmental leap of "turning the frontier into the forefront" with an average annual growth rate of over 80% in value-added industrial output above a designated scale.

Provincial Political Consultative Conference member Deng Zhiwen is a witness and participant in the park's growth. Earlier, his company, Ruili Zhiwen Wood Industry Co., Ltd., was the first rosewood enterprise to settle in the park. Starting from a 3,000-square-meter factory, it gradually expanded into a nearly 10,000-square-meter scaled production base. Deng Zhiwen himself evolved from an enthusiastic wood carving enthusiast into a representative inheritor of prefecture-level intangible cultural heritage. In his view, the Ruili Border Industrial Park has rapidly transformed from a single rosewood processing zone into a new city with a diverse industrial cluster, achieving a remarkable shift from talent scarcity to intellectual concentration, with its development speed and results being truly impressive.

Over five years, the Ruili Border Industrial Park has built a diverse pattern centered around four major leading industrial clusters. The number of enterprises has experienced geometric growth, with development momentum continuously bursting forth. Since 2023, textile and apparel enterprises have surged from 2 to 122, communications and electronics enterprises have expanded from 3 to 19, and enterprises in equipment manufacturing and import commodity processing have also seen multiple-fold growth. This fertile border land has proven with tangible development results that it can not only support the entrepreneurial dreams of pioneers but also cultivate modern industrial clusters that are based domestically and radiate internationally.

Deputies and Committee Members Speak: This year, Deng Zhiwen will submit proposals focusing on the high-quality development and cross-border coordination of the Ruili Border Industrial Park. He hopes the park will continue to center on the four leading industries, strategically attract key players in the industrial chain, build industrial collaboration platforms, promote technical cooperation and resource sharing among enterprises, enhance the competitiveness of industrial clusters, and deepen industrial chain synergy. Furthermore, on the basis of attracting high-level talent, he suggests linking with local institutions and enterprises to conduct skills training, cultivate localized skilled personnel, and build a talent echelon of "high-end talent + skilled artisans." Additionally, Deng Zhiwen proposes that the park should leverage its geographical advantages to deepen China-Myanmar cross-border industrial cooperation, improve supporting services like cross-border logistics and fund settlement, explore models for jointly building cross-border industrial parks, broaden industrial development space, and upgrade the level of cross-border cooperation. He also recommends accelerating the park's digital and intelligent upgrade, establishing a big data platform for industry, and promoting a full-process digital transformation in production, management, and services to enhance operational efficiency and development quality.
