加拿大7月GDP数据发布后，第三季度经济增长预计年化增长率为0.8%，CIBC Capital Markets经济学家Andrew Grantham表示。7月份按行业分类的GDP环比上涨0.2%，主要由加拿大石油天然气行业推动，这是自3月以来首次实现月度增长。
但加拿大统计局表示，初步指标显示8月份GDP持平，Grantham指出，这"表明经济在当月再次陷入停滞"。加拿大央行此前预测第三季度年化增长率为1%。
Grantham表示，加拿大央行在10月29日决定是否再次降息之前，可能会重点关注即将公布的就业和通胀数据。
