Air China's stock soared 5.03% during intraday trading on Thursday, marking a significant rebound for the airline.

The airline sector is staging a collective recovery from recent heavy selling pressure that was driven by surging jet fuel costs. The bounce is supported by strong demand-side signals, with Dragon Boat holiday domestic ticket bookings surpassing 680,000 and the positive booking trend extending into the summer travel season.

Air China reported encouraging operational data for April, with passenger turnover increasing 5.8% year-over-year and an average load factor reaching 85.5%, representing a 4.3 percentage point improvement from the previous period. The broader sector rally saw peers like China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines also posting gains, indicating a broad recovery from oversold conditions.
