Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei is scheduled to meet with White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles on Friday, signaling a potential breakthrough in the AI startup's dispute with the Pentagon.

The reported meeting comes as the Trump administration has acknowledged the advanced capabilities of Anthropic's new AI model, Mythos, which demonstrates exceptional proficiency in breaching cybersecurity defenses.

Neither the White House nor Anthropic immediately responded to requests for comment.

A source familiar with the negotiations stated that it would be "extremely irresponsible" for the U.S. government to deprive the nation of the technological advantages offered by this new model, suggesting that such a move would only benefit China.

Mythos was unveiled on April 7 and is currently being deployed as part of Anthropic's Glasswing initiative. This is a controlled program that grants select agencies access to an unreleased preview version of the Claude Mythos model, specifically for cybersecurity defense purposes.

Media reports on Thursday indicated that the U.S. government plans to provide a version of the Anthropic Mythos model to key federal agencies.

Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark stated on Monday that the company continues to engage with the Trump administration regarding the Mythos model, even after the Pentagon severed business ties with the U.S. AI lab due to a contract dispute.
