Snowflake's stock surged 39.18% during intraday trading on Thursday, marking a dramatic upward movement for the data cloud company.

The sharp rise was driven by a powerful combination of better-than-expected fiscal first-quarter results and a major strategic announcement. Snowflake reported adjusted earnings of $0.39 per share, surpassing analyst estimates of $0.32, while revenue grew 33% year-over-year to $1.39 billion, also beating expectations. Furthermore, the company raised its full-year product revenue guidance to $5.84 billion, up from its previous forecast and above Wall Street's view.

Concurrently, Snowflake announced an expanded collaboration with Amazon Web Services, committing $6 billion over five years for AI infrastructure. This deal reflects accelerating enterprise demand for AI and data workloads. Management emphasized that artificial intelligence is no longer just a future opportunity but is actively accelerating consumption of its core data platform, with AI products like Cortex Code and Snowflake Intelligence seeing the fastest adoption in the company's history. These developments have significantly bolstered investor confidence, dispelling prior fears that AI would disrupt the software sector and instead positioning Snowflake as a primary beneficiary of the enterprise AI boom.
