当地时间6月4日，韩国中央选举管理委员会召开全体会议，表决通过了大选投票结果的议案。根据大选开票结果，正式确定共同民主党候选人李在明为总统当选人，第21届韩国总统李在明的任期自当地时间6月4日6时21分正式开始，包括军队统帅权在内的总统所有固有权限自动转到李在明手中。
韩国中央选举委员会于当地时间4日7时10分左右向第21届总统大选当选人李在明的代理人、共同民主党党鞭朴赞大颁发当选证。
韩国行政安全部随后表示，第21届总统李在明的宣誓就职仪式将于当地时间6月4日上午11时在国会举行。
当地时间6月4日5时03分左右，韩国第21届总统大选计票工作结束。根据计票结果，共同民主党候选人李在明的得票率为49.42%（1728.75万张），国民力量党候选人金文洙得票率为41.15%，改革新党候选人李俊锡得票率为8.34%。
当地时间6月4日凌晨，在大选计票期间，李在明抵达位于首尔汝矣岛的国会前集会现场并发表演说，对韩国民众表示感谢。
李在明表示，正式当选后将尽快努力终结眼前的政治混乱、提振韩国经济，尽快让韩国民众的生活恢复正常。李在明表示将尽快安定半岛局势，同朝鲜展开对话，寻求共赢。演讲的最后，李在明呼吁韩国民众要弥合分歧，携手共进。
