JetBlue Partners with ClarityPay to Introduce 'Buy Now, Pay Later' Option, Allowing Travelers to Earn Loyalty Points

JetBlue Airways has recently announced a partnership with ClarityPay, introducing a new flexible 'buy now, pay later' payment option for travelers booking directly through its website and mobile app. This initiative aims to lower the barrier to travel and provide customers with more payment choices when planning their trips.

This payment solution allows travelers to select ClarityPay at checkout to view personalized installment plan options. Once approved, they can complete their booking without any impact on their credit score from a credit check. To celebrate the launch of the partnership, JetBlue is offering a limited-time promotion where eligible customers can benefit from a 0% annual percentage rate for a 12-month period. Under standard terms, repayment durations range from 6 weeks to 48 months, with annual percentage rates varying between 0% and 36%.

A key feature of this program is its deep integration with JetBlue's TrueBlue loyalty scheme. Travelers who use ClarityPay to complete a booking can still earn points as usual, provided they supply their TrueBlue membership number. Later this year, the two companies plan to introduce further collaborative efforts, enabling travelers to earn bonus points when booking with ClarityPay.

Ed Pouthier, Vice President of Loyalty and Personalization at JetBlue, stated that this collaboration is designed to offer customers greater flexibility, aligning payment methods more closely with their needs while also expanding the loyalty ecosystem. Tom Carter, Chief Commercial Officer at ClarityPay, noted that this marks the first integration of a loyalty program with a 'buy now, pay later' solution, aiming to help customers accrue more points and encourage their future spending within the JetBlue ecosystem.
