As the 2026 Year of the Horse Spring Festival approaches, the "longest Spring Festival holiday in history" is fueling a sustained boom in the tourism market. Coupled with the peak season for shipping New Year goods, this dual-demand scenario places higher requirements on express delivery service guarantees during the holiday period. In response, several express companies, including S.F.Holding Co.,Ltd., China Post, and JD LOGISTICS, have successively released their New Year sales festival support plans and Spring Festival service arrangements. By integrating transportation resources, optimizing service processes, and strengthening support for on-duty staff, they aim to fully maintain smooth delivery channels during the holidays, balancing service quality with employee rights.
As one of the main forces in Spring Festival delivery support, S.F.Holding Co.,Ltd. has made ample preparations in advance to comprehensively handle the dual challenges of the New Year goods season and the travel surge. Currently, S.F.Holding Co.,Ltd. operates 90 dedicated cargo aircraft. It has significantly increased flight frequencies and mainline services in key urban clusters such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, while also adding long-distance routes to remote areas. On the ground transportation side, it is optimizing direct transfer routes, planning alternative routes in advance, and coordinating high-speed rail resources to cope with adverse weather. Relying on its intelligent dispatch platform, it dynamically optimizes routing to ensure two-way smooth flow for both "agricultural products to urban areas" and "New Year goods to rural areas."
To address the issues of surging pre-holiday orders and tight manpower, it is understood that S.F.Holding Co.,Ltd. utilizes its self-developed "smart brain." Through an "intelligent warehouse allocation" algorithm, it pre-positions New Year goods in warehouses closest to consumers to shorten delivery distances. Its integrated warehousing and distribution service can also flexibly meet the needs of corporate gift distribution and the concentrated delivery of platform New Year goods orders, providing full-chain support.
It's not just S.F.Holding Co.,Ltd.; currently, multiple express companies have introduced Spring Festival service guarantee plans that balance smooth service and employee rights. China Post, JD LOGISTICS, and Deppon Express have explicitly stated they will continue to provide pickup and delivery services during the holiday. Among them, all of JD LOGISTICS's "Asia No. 1" smart industrial parks will operate 24/7, continuing to offer "same-day" and "next-day" delivery services. ZTO Express adheres to the principle of "ensuring couriers can enjoy the New Year peacefully." ZTO outlets in Shanghai have formulated operational plans in advance, ensuring sufficient last-mile manpower through reasonable shift rotations, providing stability allowances, cash bonuses, or additional delivery fees. They are also strictly enforcing the "three security systems" for shipments and arranging on-duty staff to ensure responsive customer service.
Regarding benefits for on-duty employees, major companies are increasing their investments. JD LOGISTICS is investing over 1.3 billion yuan to provide triple base pay, holiday bonuses of up to 1,380 yuan, and a 3,500 yuan family reunion subsidy for children of on-duty staff. S.F.Holding Co.,Ltd. has doubled special subsidies for employees in high-altitude and severely cold regions, while employees at directly operated outlets receive triple overtime pay and holiday bonuses. On-duty China Post employees can receive triple wages and holiday consolation payments, with staff at rural outlets receiving additional travel subsidies. Franchised outlets of ZTO, YTO, and others are also implementing standards of triple overtime pay plus a daily subsidy of 200 yuan to effectively protect the rights of on-duty staff.
It has been learned that some express companies will impose resource adjustment fees during the Spring Festival period. S.F.Holding Co.,Ltd., JD LOGISTICS, and Deppon Express have all specified phased fee standards. Specifically, S.F.Holding Co.,Ltd. will charge a 0.1 to 1.5 yuan per kilogram adjustment fee for some parcels weighing 20kg or more from January 19 to February 15. During the actual Spring Festival holiday from February 16 to 23, it will add an adjustment fee to its delivery services. JD LOGISTICS and Deppon Express will also apply corresponding adjustment fees to certain products or customers during the same period. These fees are announced in advance and are primarily used to ensure transportation capacity and provide employee subsidies.
Customer service departments at express companies like YTO, STO, and Yunda stated that services will operate as usual during the Spring Festival, and they have not yet received notifications about price increases. China Post operates year-round without closure, but there may be temporary surcharges for door-to-door pickup services.
Industry insiders remind that due to factors like resource allocation, weather, and employee shift rotations, delivery times may experience delays during the Spring Festival. Although franchised express company headquarters claim to provide service, many subordinate transfer stations and franchised outlets may be closed, which could affect last-mile service. Users with delivery needs are advised to plan ahead.
