Major Earnings and Central Bank Events

NVIDIA is set to release its fiscal second-quarter results for fiscal year 2027 after the US market close on August 26 (early morning Beijing time on August 27). Other widely-watched companies, including Pinduoduo, Meituan, XPeng, and Li Auto, will also publish their latest quarterly figures during the week.

US Treasury Secretary Bessent will hold a press conference during US trading hours on Monday (early Tuesday Beijing time) to outline details of the "economic war" against Iran. The same day will also see the release of US June house price index data and the August Conference Board consumer confidence index. The July PCE price index is due on Wednesday. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics will publish the preliminary benchmark revision for 2026 non-farm payrolls on Friday. The global central bank symposium runs from August 27-29, with Fed Chair Warsh delivering a speech on Friday, August 28, at the Jackson Hole gathering.

The Bank of Korea's Financial Monetary Committee will convene on August 27 to determine the benchmark interest rate.

Industry Conferences and Forums

Several key industry events are on the calendar. The 2026 Wenchang International Aerospace Forum will be held in Wenchang, Hainan from August 24-26, showcasing the latest developments in the province's aerospace sector. The 2026 AGIC Shenzhen International General Artificial Intelligence Industry Expo and GERX Global Embodied Intelligent Robot Industry Expo will take place in Shenzhen from August 26-28. The 16th China International Digital Publishing Expo is scheduled for August 27-29 in Jinan, Shandong. The 2026 China International Big Data Industry Expo will be held from August 28-30 in Guiyang, Guizhou province.

Domestic Fuel Price Adjustment Window

In line with the "ten working days" principle, the next fuel price adjustment window opens at 24:00 on August 28. Liu Bingjuan, a refined oil product analyst at Longzhong Information, forecasts a higher probability of an upward adjustment, citing persistent uncertainty in US-Iran relations and unresolved supply risks that keep market concerns over geopolitical tensions elevated.

Market Liquidity and Share Unlocks

Wind data shows that 95 billion yuan in reverse repurchase agreements will mature next week, with the daily breakdown being 0, 0, 0, 0, and 95 billion yuan from Monday to Friday. Additionally, 600 billion yuan in Medium-term Lending Facility (MLF) loans will mature on Tuesday.

According to Wind data, nearly 30 companies will see their restricted shares unlock between August 24-28. Based on the August 21 closing prices, the total market value of shares unlocking is below 20 billion yuan. The top three companies by unlocking market value are iSoftStone (3.058 billion yuan), Zhenlan Instrument (2.976 billion yuan), and Hetai Electromechanical (2.029 billion yuan). By share volume, the top three are Xiamen Xiangyu (217 million shares), Zhenlan Instrument (212 million shares), and Suyan Jingshen (164 million shares).

New Stock Issuances

Wind data indicates that four new stocks will be issued next week (August 24-28): one on the Shanghai main board, two on the ChiNext board, and one on the Beijing Stock Exchange. These issuances total approximately 276 million shares, with expected aggregate fundraising of 5.995 billion yuan. The schedule is as follows: Huahui Intelligent on August 24; Tianbo Intelligent and Luozhou Shares on August 26; and Dianke Siyi on August 28.
