According to the latest data from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, on August 13, shareholders of AMUSE GROUP (08545) deposited shares at Hang Seng Bank with a market value of HK$2.622 million, representing a 5% stake.

AMUSE GROUP issued an announcement at the end of June, expecting to record an attributable loss to company owners of no less than HK$2 million for this year, compared to a profit of approximately HK$490,000 for the year ended March 31, 2024 (last year). The board believes that this year's shift from profit to loss is primarily due to a revenue decrease of approximately 34.7%.

The revenue decline was mainly attributed to significant drops across all segments of the toy business. Notably, ODM toy sales to licensees and sales of proprietary licensed toys and related products decreased by 46.5% and 40.4% respectively. The substantial reduction in sales was due to economic pressures, including inflation and consumers spending less on non-essential items.

The shift from profit to loss this year was also mainly due to an impairment loss of HK$4.5 million on the group's equity interest in an associate company, as the associate's operations faced challenges due to economic downturn, intensified competition, and operational difficulties.
