Congyu Intelligent Agricultural reported notable advances across its environmental, social and governance agenda for FY2025, underlining a deepened commitment to sustainability and compliance oversight.
Environmental Performance • Greenhouse-gas emissions (Scopes 1, 2 & 3) fell to 0.29 million kg CO₂e, a 48.9% drop from 0.58 million kg CO₂e in 2024, driven mainly by halving purchased-electricity use (-51.8% to 0.45 million kWh). • Direct energy use (petrol, diesel, town gas) declined 51.9% to 0.13 million kWh, while total energy intensity per employee fell to 16,127 kWh from 32,569 kWh. • Non-hazardous waste generation remained minimal at 0.20 tonnes; no hazardous waste was produced. • The group introduced phased targets (base year 2025) to cut energy, hazardous waste and GHG intensities by at least 2% over the medium term, aligning with Hong Kong’s long-term decarbonisation roadmap.
Governance and Risk Management • The Board-mandated ESG Working Group now integrates climate risks into overall risk management, supported by annual materiality reviews and regular scenario assessments. • All directors and senior executives completed sustainability and anti-corruption training; climate metrics have not yet been embedded in remuneration. • A whistle-blowing framework guarantees confidential reporting, with investigations overseen by a corporate governance committee. No corruption cases were concluded during the year.
Social Metrics • Headcount stood at 36 (-41.9% YoY) with a 22% turnover rate. Equal-opportunity hiring practices resulted in women representing 69% of the workforce. • Zero work-related fatalities or injuries were recorded for a third consecutive year, and the company maintained ISO-certified occupational health-and-safety, quality and food-safety management systems. • Training hours totalled 66, ensuring 100% employee coverage.
Supply Chain and Product Safety • Approximately 45 mainland suppliers were subject to regular ESG assessments. Organic fertilisers are prioritised, and only licensed pesticide vendors are engaged. • No product recalls or health-and-safety complaints were lodged in 2025; extensive traceability and residue-testing protocols remain in force.
Community Engagement • The group continued its partnership with Bo Charity Foundation’s “Food Angel” programme, redistributing surplus food to vulnerable communities, reinforcing its local social contribution.
Looking Ahead Congyu Intelligent Agricultural will pursue incremental annual reductions in energy, waste and GHG intensities, explore contingency plans for extreme-weather resilience and further integrate ESG metrics into corporate strategy and risk controls.
