During the National Day holiday period, the 2025 World Table Tennis (WTT) China Grand Slam and the 2025 WTT China Youth Grand Slam were held simultaneously at Shougang Park. As the highest-level event in the World Table Tennis professional league series, it attracted top global players to participate. The Shijingshan Branch of Beijing Public Security Bureau took on the responsibility as the host with full commitment, dedicating all efforts to tournament security work and safeguarding every exciting moment of this international sports event.

17 Types of Security Positions Ensure Safe and Orderly Viewing for Nearly 140,000 Spectators

During the WTT China Grand Slam tournament, it coincided with the peak activity period at Shougang Park in Shijingshan. Within the park, various activities such as markets and concerts were also held in rotation. In response, Shijingshan police took early action, collaborating with multiple departments including culture and tourism, sports, transportation, and urban management. They conducted multiple rounds of on-site inspections of key elements such as venue facilities, personnel flow lines, and emergency passages for each event, refined security work plans, established security organizational systems, and effectively and orderly advanced security work during the protection period, training period, competition period, and related commercial activities.

To ensure the safe and orderly viewing experience for nearly 140,000 spectators, Shijingshan police established a tight security perimeter around the venue and surrounding areas, setting up closure lines, entry and exit points, and security checkpoints, deploying 17 types of security positions to form a three-dimensional security control structure. During the qualifying rounds and main competition, Shijingshan police deployed security forces respectively, comprehensively strengthening security screening, order maintenance, and emergency response capabilities to ensure good on-site order.

Around Grand Slam Park, Shijingshan police focused on fan meet-and-greet activities, strengthening regional patrols and crowd guidance, while increasing patrol intensity at key locations such as the surrounding Yongding River Market and New Shougang Bridge to ensure safety and order.

It was learned that during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival double holiday period, in addition to Shougang Park, the Shijingshan jurisdiction also hosted multiple public activities including the 12th Xishan Badachu Cultural Week, the 13th Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Week at Beijing International Sculpture Park, and the Shijingshan Amusement Park Lantern Garden Fair. Addressing the concentrated hosting of multiple activities, Shijingshan police combined the travel characteristics of the public during National Day and Mid-Autumn holidays, coordinating the WTT China Grand Slam with various public activity security in unified planning and integrated advancement. They initiated high-level duty shifts in advance and increased patrol control and order maintenance at locations prone to large crowds around Shougang Park, such as New Shougang Bridge and Moshikou Historical and Cultural Street.

Meanwhile, they strengthened guidance on security prevention work for organizers and various property management units, scientifically setting security positions, and ensuring all security measures were implemented through designated personnel, positions, and responsibilities. Additionally, the branch collaborated with culture, tourism, and sports departments to strictly manage event ticketing and on-site verification, working together to resolve various issues.

Based on this foundation, Shijingshan police focused on strengthening crackdowns on order-related violations and crimes such as ticket scalping and illegal street vendors, with Shougang Park surrounding areas as the focus, continuously conducting inspections and checks to fully ensure the safe and orderly conduct of competitions and various activities.

Shijingshan police remind all spectators to purchase tickets only through official or authorized channels and never buy tickets from scalpers or individuals. Purchasing tickets through irregular channels easily leads to scams involving fake or invalid tickets, resulting in inability to enter and financial losses.

Police Recommend Green Transportation to Shougang Park

Additionally, Shijingshan police closely monitored drone safety management, deploying dedicated police forces to strengthen patrols and ensure airspace safety. They installed drone safety management warning signs in prominent locations at WTT venues and market areas, reminding spectators to comply with relevant regulations.

Shijingshan police remind that the Beijing Municipal Government has issued a notice declaring the entire Beijing area as a controlled airspace for unmanned aircraft. Without approval from air traffic management authorities, unauthorized flying of unmanned aircraft is prohibited. The public is urged to consciously comply with Beijing's unmanned aircraft control policies and not use drones illegally. If related "black flight" behavior is discovered, please report it to police promptly.

Regarding traffic order maintenance and guidance, the Shijingshan Traffic Detachment of the Traffic Management Bureau organized carefully and deployed comprehensively, maximizing police deployment to strengthen road order maintenance and guidance, while simultaneously enhancing road patrols, video inspections, traffic violation enforcement, and quick accident clearance work. Temporary traffic management measures were implemented on key road sections such as Wuyi Theater Road, Dongli East Street, and Wuyi Theater South Road. Particularly, to handle instant large crowd dispersal after events, police actively coordinated with the district urban management committee to deploy shared bicycles in surrounding areas to accelerate dispersal speed.

Traffic police strengthened road patrols, video inspections, traffic violation enforcement, and quick accident clearance work.

Furthermore, since the competition was held during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival long holiday with overlapping pedestrian and vehicle traffic, self-driving public could park their vehicles for free at P3 parking lot. It is recommended that everyone choose green transportation methods and take the subway to New Shougang Station or Beixinan Station.
