According to the announcement, the increases in revenue and profit were primarily attributed to the recognition of foreign exchange gains of HK$8.136 million during the first half of 2025 due to the appreciation of the Canadian dollar and New Zealand dollar against the Hong Kong dollar (compared to foreign exchange losses of HK$3.753 million as of June 30, 2024). Additionally, income tax expenses mainly related to oil exploration and production business increased to HK$1.495 million (June 30, 2024: HK$0.412 million), and professional fees of HK$0.321 million were recognized in relation to the company's share capital reorganization and participation and operation agreements for oil exploration and production business (June 30, 2024: nil).
