In order to implement the requirements of the Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Development of "Artificial Intelligence Plus Consumption" issued by the Ministry of Commerce and seven other departments, further unlock the consumption potential of intelligent terminal products in Hubei Province, promote deep integration of artificial intelligence and consumption, and improve residents' quality of home life, Hubei Province has optimized and adjusted the subsidy policy for newly added categories under the 2026 consumer goods trade-in program. The new rules officially took effect on October 1, 2026.
This adjustment was carried out on the basis of the original 2026 Hubei Province Consumer Goods Trade-In New Categories Subsidy Work Plan. The total number of subsidized categories remains unchanged at 10, and all other policy requirements such as subsidy application procedures and review rules remain the same. Only the scope of subsidized categories has been restructured and optimized.
Specific changes compared. Under the adjustment, previously subsidized categories including smart speakers, smart air purifiers, and ventilators (including oxygen concentrators) have been removed. Some categories have been split and reorganized: sweeping and floor-washing machines and window-cleaning robots, which were originally grouped under smart service robots, have been established as a separate "smart cleaning equipment" category; smart dishwashers have been expanded and upgraded into "smart kitchen appliances," with smart disinfection cabinets newly included in the subsidy scope. At the same time, the definition of smart service robots has been broadened to include embodied robots, cooking robots, exoskeleton robots, and companion robots/robot dogs.
It is worth noting that this policy adds three major new subsidy categories: digital cameras (including action cameras and drones), elderly-friendly products (including blood pressure monitors and blood glucose meters), and smart furniture (including smart massage chairs, smart sofas, smart beds, and smart mattresses). Smart earphones and smart door locks retain their subsidy eligibility; the wording for smart range hoods and smart toilet-related categories has been optimized and fine-tuned.
This category adjustment closely follows the development orientation of "artificial intelligence plus consumption," directing the focus of subsidies toward emerging consumer areas such as trendy digital products, whole-home intelligence, and embodied robots, better aligning with residents' current diversified demand for quality consumption. This category optimization and adjustment focuses on new intelligent consumption and elderly-friendly health care consumption, further enriching trade-in subsidy scenarios, continuously activating the province's intelligent terminal consumer market, and helping to upgrade consumption quality.
Regarding the participation process, consumers must complete real-name authentication to receive vouchers. Specifically, they can search for and log in to the WeChat mini-program "Hubei Province Consumer Goods Trade-In Public Service Platform," complete real-name authentication, enter the "Smart Home Subsidy Zone," and receive the corresponding subsidy qualification voucher as needed. If the national government issues new requirements or Hubei Province introduces new plans, the latest policy requirements shall apply. The campaign ends on December 31, 2026.
