With the launch of the Xi'an-Yan'an high-speed railway, the revolutionary sacred site of Yan'an has now been integrated into the national high-speed rail network. As trains traverse the rugged ravines and ridges, local agricultural products are reaching wider markets at a faster pace, while the city's red tourism resources are being linked together like beads on a string.

Today's Yan'an is a sight of lush greenery, with vegetation coverage reaching 87.6 percent, earning it the title of a national forest city. Drawing on its 445 red heritage sites, including Pagoda Mountain, Yan'an has introduced immersive performances such as "Yan'an Nursery" and "Return to Yan'an," attracting over 50 million domestic and international visitors in 2025.

The former revolutionary base area, once defined by its yellow earth gullies, has been completely transformed into a livable, business-friendly, and tourist-friendly city of happiness.

Photographs taken on September 15 show Pagoda Mountain from a drone's perspective, while images from September 14 capture a Fuxing bullet train arriving at Yan'an Station via the Xi'an-Yan'an line, with another departing for Yibin West Station on the same day. Additional drone footage from September 15 shows freshmen at Yan'an University participating in military training, and visitors enjoying northern Shaanxi specialties at the Erdao Street night market. On July 30, tourists are seen touring the Yangjialing Revolutionary Site, and on September 16, others explore the Yan'an Museum. A performance of the red drama "Yan'an Nursery" was staged at the Jinyan'an scenic area on July 28, while children engaged in outdoor activities at the Yan'an Los Angeles Nursery on September 15. Drone shots from September 14 and 15 highlight the Yan'an Museum in the new district and the overall layout of the developing Yan'an New Area.
