Musk posted on X stating: "Join xAI to help build a pure AI software company called MacroHard. It's a semi-joking name, but the project is very real! In principle, considering that software companies like Microsoft don't actually produce any physical hardware themselves, it should be possible to simulate them entirely with AI."
A user asked: "Are there positions for mechanical engineers?"
Musk responded: "When building computing clusters."
Previous reports indicated that Musk's xAI officially submitted an application to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on August 1st to register "MacroHard" as a trademark, which could very likely become the name of Musk's new company. The name "MacroHard" is the exact opposite of Microsoft's "Microsoft."
